SPECIAL COMMISSION ON FOOTWEAR OF THE VALENCIAN COURTS

This commission has the objective of carrying out a joint and shared reflection with workers and experts in order to find solutions for a leading sector in production and export in the Valencian Community.

With the meeting in Elda, the Valencian Courts decentralize their activity to bring it closer to the citizens.

The work plan of the Special Commission has, among other main objectives, to study the business model of the footwear industry to improve its competitiveness by emphasizing sustainability; analyze the employment situation in the sector and learn about training and qualification needs; and study the needs for innovation and digitization.

In addition, the Commission is giving testimony from experts of recognized prestige and professional solvency, representatives of trade union and business organizations as well as other social agents and public institutions. The Special Commission for the Study of Footwear, which meets at least twice a month, agreed to hold some of its meetings in the cities that are the productive focus of the sector, the first of which took place this morning at the Museum of Elda Footwear.
