Valle de Elda inaugurates the exhibition Elda 1932: a magical year, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the visit of the Head of State, Niceto Alcalá Zamora, to lay the first stone of the monument to Castelar.
Elda was, together with Alicante, the first cities that he visited as president, given the importance that our town had acquired with dozens of shoe factories, which motivated the arrival of thousands of people from neighboring towns and made modern services and establishments flourish.
The Valle de Elda newspaper has worked hard for months to collect and select thousands of photographs and objects from Elda's golden age, most of which were donated by individuals.
The exhibition, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Participation and Democratic Quality and the Elda City Council, has tried to dissect life in Elda in 1932 and the immediate years into five main axes:
The republican illusion.
The factory city.
A modern city, Urbanism.
Marking the border.
and The thousand faces of a living culture.
Until December, it will be available to the public during the opening hours of the Footwear Museum.
