The Woman in the Best Shoes in Spain Award is an honorific nomination with the objective of giving value to Spanish Footwear, focusing on women of renowned social prestige and with a strong presence in the media, who deserve to act as ambassador to the shoe industry for a whole year, committing themselves to contributing to the dissemination of the extraordinary quality and design of shoe brands and producers, as well as the good work of handicraft shoemakers.
The Woman in the Best Shoes in Spain is awarded this prize during an annual ceremony held in the Footwear Museum in Elda before celebrities, business people in this sector and the media. At this ceremony she receives the award and the pin with the symbol of the Winged Shoe representing the spirit of the award and which embodies the responsibility given when it comes to making the industry take off, making it rise past any borders. To such end, the woman awarded receives the most valuable jewels: pairs of shoes designed by the collaborating companies with the features of the woman awarded in mind. These are handed over during a ceremony on the same day.
Paula Vázquez is one of the most recognized and versatile presenters in the Spanish television landscape. Born in Ferrol in 1974, she moved to Hospitalet de Llobregat in her teenage years, where she began her career as a model, a first step that soon led her to the world of television. Her debut on screen came at just 17 years old in the show Jeans, News and Rock & Roll, broadcast on Antena 3, and she quickly became a familiar face in Spanish households. Her popularity grew rapidly after participating as a hostess in the legendary Un, dos, tres… responde otra vez, directed by Chicho Ibáñez Serrador.
Over the decades, she has worked with the major national networks—Antena 3, Telecinco, TVE, Cuatro, and Movistar Plus+—leading formats such as Gran Hermano, La isla de los famosos, Fama, ¡a bailar! or Pekín Express. She has also hosted special events like the New Year's Eve Bells, charity galas, and musical selection programs such as Misión Eurovisión.
In parallel, she has had forays into acting, such as in the series Canguros, and has been awarded numerous recognitions, including the Antena de Oro, the Micrófono de Oro, and the Award for Best Communicator from Elle. In recent years, she has continued to explore new formats, presenting innovative programs such as El Puente on Movistar Plus+ or the Spanish version of Ultimate Beastmaster on Netflix, thus becoming the first Spanish presenter to collaborate with the platform. In 2023, she returned to TVE to lead El puente de las mentiras, Bake Off: Famosos al horno, and more recently, the Benidorm Fest 2025. With a solid, charismatic, and coherent career, Paula Vázquez has established herself as an indisputable reference in Spanish television, capable of adapting to the times and connecting with different generations of viewers.
